About The Position

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to manage projects and make sure proposed plans adhere to the timeline, budget, and scope. Must plan projects in detail including creation of software designed for military and research and development work. Will need to oversee the project and coordinate the people, resources, and processes required to deliver new products or upgrade existing products. All work requires travel to assessment sites within the US and OCONUS locations. The endstate is to apply practical experience and education as a systems engineer to help mature technologies for actual use by military service members.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Master's Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Chemical and Biological Defense, Engineering, or Physics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Valid U.S. Passport.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
  • Familiarity with the Android OS (bootloaders, rooting, and layered security).
  • OOP, Java and C/C++ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support and systems analysis of COTS and GOTS technologies.
  • Oversee a team developing applications on a Windows, Linux and Android OS using agile processes.
  • Manage R&D and Engineering projects by developing designs, schedules, budgets, and deliverables as appropriate.
  • Design and build models/prototypes, user interfaces, and other software engineering diagrams.
  • Participate in various government sponsored team meetings, conference calls, and other tasks as requested.
  • Consult with military operators and/or hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software as well as operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Arrange personal travel plans in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) to support assessment events.
  • Submit travel costs/expense reports in accordance with JTR.
  • Write and submit timely professional products suitable for senior leader decision support.
  • Oversee the design and development of software applications, implementation of the project’s activities and executing a plan of action.
  • Conducting team meetings and project reviews.
  • Support assessment events as a data collector as required.
  • Be available for CONUS and OCONUS travel.
