About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and experienced systems engineer to help design and develop analytical instruments. The successful candidate will work with an experienced team to bring high-performance, market-leading products to market worldwide. You will find a fast-paced environment with opportunities to develop creative solutions to unique technical challenges. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing components and systems for high-performance, market-leading analytical instruments. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, applications scientists, and product managers to ensure that new products meet demanding requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in hardware design and development, preferably in the field of analytical instrument development or a related industry.
  • Proficiency with mechanical and electronic design tools such as SolidWorks or Altium Designer.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, signal processing, and sensor integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA, ISO, and CE for medical devices or analytical instruments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware components and systems including analog and digital circuits, sensors, data acquisition systems, and signal processing modules.
  • Integrate hardware components into complete analytical instrument systems, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility with software and firmware.
  • Build and test prototypes of hardware systems, iterating designs based on performance feedback and results of testing.
  • Develop test plans and procedures for validating hardware components and systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Identify and resolve hardware issues during development, testing, and manufacturing phases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.
  • Create comprehensive documentation including schematics, design specifications, test reports, and user manuals for hardware components and systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers, scientists, and product managers to define system requirements, establish design specifications, and ensure alignment between hardware and software components.
  • Keep up with advancements in hardware technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to analytical instruments.
  • Continuously improve hardware designs and processes to enhance product performance and reliability.
