About The Position

Summary of Job Purpose: Develop gas turbine engine control models, test rigs and requirements flow-down for gas turbine engine control systems in airborne applications. Participate as a team member of a highly skilled engineering team and have willingness to expand in knowledge and expertise related to the product. • Ensure that all designs meet customer requirements, considering the engineering budget and schedule objectives. • Present systems architecture, logic, hardware and software integration, and requirements flow-down at internal and external reviews, audits and customer meetings. • Contribute to building a world class engineering team recognized and sought after by clients. • Improve the systems & controls team tools processes.

Responsibilities

Lead hands-on work to develop and certify Auxiliary Power Unit control systems and software.
Design control models using Matlab/Simulink, develop control algorithms and perform testing to validate functionality.
Define and manage product requirements flow-down for airborne engines/systems using DOORs or similar tools.
Specify control methods and develop automatic test systems used to validate requirements, supporting associated rig and engine testing activities.
Coordinate with other engineering groups to assure the design performs as specified.
Support customer activities, specifically rig and flight test.
Review data to ensure the system is functioning properly.
Issue detailed technical reports to document results.
Coordinate with other engineering and company groups to achieve optimization of the control system, based on established constraints.
Build a strong relationship with clients, partners and parent company technical team in a partnership-focused environment.
