About The Position

At TCI, a division of SPX Communication Technologies, we’re looking for a hands-on Systems Engineer to lead the integration and execution of advanced radio receiving systems used for monitoring, direction finding, and signal analysis. This is more than a technical role—it’s a chance to shape mission-critical systems used by defense, intelligence, and regulatory agencies worldwide. You’ll work at the intersection of RF engineering, software integration, and real-world impact, helping governments and organizations master the spectrum.

Requirements

  • BSEE (MSEE preferred) with a focus on RF communication systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in system design, integration, and testing of radio systems (LF to SHF bands).
  • Strong background in system architecture, trade studies, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with PLM/ERP systems (Agile, Oracle), BOMs, and ETO processes.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of analog/RF design up to 60 GHz.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Visio.
  • Familiarity with computer networking and Lean/5S methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and configure end-to-end systems, including infrastructure, data networks, towers, and mobile platforms.
  • Create detailed engineering documentation—wiring diagrams, test procedures, BOMs, and manuals—ensuring traceability and change control.
  • Partner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing to define specs and deliverables.
  • Improve manufacturability and support ongoing projects through lifecycle phases.
  • Evaluate new components, suppliers, and technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Tailor product modifications to meet unique customer requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using Lean and 5S principles.

Benefits

  • Generous and flexible paid time off including paid personal time off, caregiver, parental, and volunteer leave.
  • Competitive health insurance plans and 401(k) match, with benefits starting day one.
  • Competitive and performance-based compensation packages and bonus plans.
  • Educational assistance, leadership development programs, and recognition programs.
