About The Position

VTG is seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team in Chantilly, VA. As a Systems Engineer on this program, you will design, develop, and implement reliable, robust, and resilient systems used by software development teams. Demonstratable, working experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, GitHub Actions), Kubernetes, containers, or serverless is strongly preferred. The Platform Engineer will work with a large team of developers, software engineers, cybersecurity engineers, database administrators, and system architects. Applicants for this position are expected to have significant, hands-on systems engineering experience.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• BS degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS
• Experience in Platform engineering
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Experience working with the team’s security engineer to address and mitigate security findings stemming from system security scans
• Perform regular maintenance of cloud infrastructure resources, including patching, configuration, upgrading as needed
• Experience interacting with cross functional project teams including Software Development, System Engineering, Security Compliance, and Quality Assurance

• Support the development of enterprise software solutions within the customer’s cloud environments
• Provide execution guidance and practical engineering support to mission teams
