Requirements

Knowledge of System Safety Standards
Knowledge of System Safety design and operations safety principles to include experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation and/or associated deliverable documentation
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance and US Citizenship.(Not required to start)

Nice To Haves

Electrical Engineering Experience
Experience using MIL-STD-882E, AFSPCMAN 91-710, NASA GSFC-STD-8009, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards
Experience participating/presenting in DoD/NASA System Safety Working Groups and Safety Boards
Familiarity with DOORS and/or Cameo
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in an engineering or related discipline
Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Active Secret clearance

Responsibilities

Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).
Help Decompose and integrate safety requirements.
Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings.
Support the development and updating of System Safety documents to support Range Safety/Internal Stakeholders.
Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements.
Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing.
Assist in the development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation's.
Creation of safety products to support Program/Range Safety Milestones.
