Requirements

  • Knowledge of System Safety Standards
  • Knowledge of System Safety design and operations safety principles to include experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation and/or associated deliverable documentation
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance and US Citizenship.(Not required to start)

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical Engineering Experience
  • Experience using MIL-STD-882E, AFSPCMAN 91-710, NASA GSFC-STD-8009, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards
  • Experience participating/presenting in DoD/NASA System Safety Working Groups and Safety Boards
  • Familiarity with DOORS and/or Cameo
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in an engineering or related discipline
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Active Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).
  • Help Decompose and integrate safety requirements.
  • Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings.
  • Support the development and updating of System Safety documents to support Range Safety/Internal Stakeholders.
  • Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation's.
  • Creation of safety products to support Program/Range Safety Milestones.
