About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented Systems Engineer, Sr Staff with a Secret security clearance to work from our Cape Canaveral, FL location. This position supports the GPS On-Orbit Sustainment Team, primarily supporting the maintenance and operation of the GPS Simulators. As Systems Engineer, Sr Staff you will: Provide maintenance, support, and technical expertise for the GPS IIR/IIR-M Modernized Telecom Simulator (MTS), the GPS III Spacecraft Simulator (G3SS) and the GPS IIIF Spacecraft Simulator (GSS+). Operate, troubleshoot and status the simulators and associated equipment. Assist satellite software and system testers with the capability and operations of the simulators Support cybersecurity efforts, provide 24 hour on-call support, and prepare for/recover from natural disasters as needed Conduct cybersecurity test and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements. Employ cybersecurity processes, methods, techniques, and tools and assure their consistent application. Perform system administration, data archival, and system security in accordance with cybersecurity regulations and contract requirements. Work closely with Sustainment Engineers, Information Assurance Groups, Space Force operational units Systems Analysts, and anomaly response personnel Perform installations and upgrades to simulator operating systems and commercial off-the-shelf hardware, software and database packages and ensure they are implemented in accordance with Space Force and DoD policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experienced with Risk Management Framework for DoD systems.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and share knowledge in the cybersecurity domain.
  • DoD 8570 approved baseline certification for IAT Level II (IE CompTIA Security+, GSEC SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISSP) or ability to obtain w/in 6 months.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, be well organized, flexible, and self-motivated.
  • Expertise in Unix / Solaris operating systems, Jazz or similar scripting language
  • Experience with supporting troubleshooting, problem resolution, using standard test equipment such as, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and function generators in Aerospace / Military Satellite applications.
  • Solid understanding of computer systems administration and embedded system architectures
  • Final Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with supporting troubleshooting, problem resolution, and pre-launch Space Vehicle (SV) tests
  • Previous SV Simulator operations experience.
  • Experience supporting System Test and Evaluation Cyber Security events
  • Familiarity with LM Property Custodian procedure and Government Furnished Equipment accountability
  • Experience applying RMF to DoD IT systems.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning.
  • Experience with DISA IAVMs and STIGs.
  • Familiar with GPS IIR, IIR-M and III Space Vehicle subsystem
