As a Systems Engineer Advisor you will help manages design of server and application architectures. Manages the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Maintains system security and establishes practices and procedures, monitors usage statistics and logs, monitors and remedies attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files. Develops baseline configurations and directs modification of configuration settings. Develops troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems. Provides team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.

Requirements

  • Experience with server virtualization (VMWare and/or Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred
  • Has full technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineering
  • Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience
  • Creation of effective user manuals; Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
  • May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications
  • Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering
  • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration and Windows Server platforms (2016/2019/2022)
  • Experience with PowerShell Scripting and systems automation
  • Experience performing troubleshooting for technicians and/or end users utilizing Service Now ticketing system.
  • Strong experience with server virtualization (VMWare and/or Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • Participate in project planning and management, providing technical guidance and expertise as needed.
  • Security Clearance Level: TS / SCI
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally.
  • Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities.

  • Experience in creating effective technical documentation.
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work.
