This position is with our Advanced Development Program (ADP), known as the historic Skunk Works, in Palmdale, CA. We are looking for world-class talent for this position to join the 75+ year tradition of creating advanced aircraft. The candidate will join an ADP effort as a Systems Engineer. Candidate must be able to concurrently handle multiple and widely varying assignments and will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment exploring state-of-the-art technical solutions that will include Agile and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

  • Provide systems engineering support, including requirements tracking, risk management, architecture evaluation, and airworthiness for an ADP program.
  • Work across multiple disciplines, suppliers, and users to ensure all aspects of the project are covered with appropriate requirements.
  • Conduct technical trade studies to determine requirements.
  • Understand industry-standard requirement formulation, decomposition, flow-down, traceability, and metrics.
  • Work with functional experts and generate verification and validation plans for requirements.
  • Participate in Skunk Work's Digital Transformation efforts, including implementing and applying MBSE throughout the SE process.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand the overall program and engineering execution.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • Final Secret Clearance investigation within the last 5 years with ability to or in the process of obtaining a Top Secret SAR/SAP clearance.
  • Experience in Mission Systems (MS) system design and development.
  • Experience executing in a digital engineering environment (i.e., MBSE and digital twin).
  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, 3DX, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
  • Ability to work with different engineering disciplines to derive and decompose requirements.
  • Work experience with operational modeling tools.
  • Experience developing a system architecture.
  • Experience using software tools (such as MS Excel, JIRA and Access).
  • Experience with systems engineering processes.
  • Good written and verbal communication with experience in writing requirements.
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team player.
  • Willingness to support other team members on a proactive basis.
  • Engage professionally and effectively with senior management.
  • Ability to successfully meet deadlines and execute to a strict timeline.
