Maintains within established levels, the technical performance of network systems supporting the enterprise, which includes hospitals, medical office buildings, physician practices, administrative and financial offices, and all support facilities. Monitors system performance and takes appropriate action to ensure the best performance and utilization of network resources. Participates in localized problem determination and resolution. Escalates appropriately. Supports the networking systems, working with multiple IS departments and vendors to provide stable and reliable network connectivity. Demonstrates detailed knowledge of the network infrastructure for which they provide administration and develops a working understanding of the inter-relationships between applications and network impact. Recommends, coordinates, and implements moderate- to high-risk network changes and designed network solutions (switches, routers, and system hardware) independently to mission critical areas while following established designs and configurations previously developed. Works proficiently in both a team setting and independently, assuming a leadership role on medium- to large-sized projects and within the team. Assures technical development of other team members through sharing knowledge and experience. Works well under pressure, able to multi-task. Understands the basic concept of project management - developing and executing project plans for network system implementations. Understands and follows change management processes. Follows and defines protocols for working with customers and appropriately balances needs and resources. Resolves complex (Tier 2) help desk tickets and network problems. Escalates complex network connectivity issues to vendors or Tier 3 as required. Tracks and trends issues and drives resolution. Physically and logically install components (routers, switches, physical cabling, UPS, etc) into a single unified network. Defines network infrastructure requirements and recommendations for appropriate solutions. Researches, provides input into recommendations and justifies various hardware and software purchases and participates in determining hardware, software, and administrative standards and procedures. Develops and implements process improvement initiatives within Information Technology.
