About The Position

GDIT has been supporting the IHS mission for 20+ years; working with the agency to provide integral services to raise health access and availability to 2.6 million American Indians and Alaska Natives. You'll be part of modernizing the EHR platform to enable better data access, patient experience, and quality of care for 567 tribes, 37 states and over 600 medical facilities. Our work depends on a Systems Engineer Senior joining our team to support the Indian Health Service (IHS) Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program. As a Systems Engineer Senior supporting the IHS EHRM program, you will be responsible for supporting Federal EHR HIT Modernization program activities. This position is fully remote, US based only. HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Contributes to completion of device engineering workstream programs and projects Develops solutions to a variety of complex device engineering workstream problems Perform complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end Oversees complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining biomedical and end user devices with customer Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to device engineering projects Oversees continual maintenance and provides complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, especially biomedical and end user devices and the Oracle Health EHR system Works cross-functionally with other program workstreams such as cyber and implementation May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals May serve as a team or task lead REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 5+ years of experience supporting medium-to-large IT projects. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Must have experience developing solutions to a variety of complex device engineering workstream problems Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance. Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience supporting federal contract programs. Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage frequently changing priorities of competing importance. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with internal/external teams including key stakeholders and customers. Ability to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our program. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
