The Systems Engineer for Robotics Autonomy Testing at DCS Corp is responsible for leading the testing efforts of autonomous systems implemented in ROS (Robot Operating System). This role involves overseeing the verification and validation (V&V) workflow, developing test specifications, and creating test cases to ensure software requirements are met. The engineer will work closely with requirements engineers and architects to decompose complex software systems and will utilize various testing methods, including software simulations and vehicle tests, to collect data for autonomous ground vehicle systems.

  • Act as testing lead for the autonomous system implemented in ROS.
  • Own the V&V (Verification and Validation) workflow for the product line.
  • Develop test specifications to verify software requirements with performance metrics.
  • Create and maintain test cases and metrics within Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Develop and run tests using software, simulation, and/or vehicles to collect data for ROS-based autonomous ground vehicle systems.
  • Assist requirements engineer and architect with decomposition of complex software systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering or applied science field.
  • At least 5 years of experience implementing system engineering best practices with a focus on V&V.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle controls, sensors, autonomous systems, and functional safety.
  • Experience with MBSE, model-based development using SysML and UML tools.
  • Experience in Robotics and autonomous systems.
  • Understanding of perception, behavior, planning, and motion control of a robotic system.
