About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking a Systems Engineer - Product Owner (Mid-Level & Senior) to serve as a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Product Owner for the F-15 USAF simulator program who will lead cross-functional teams of systems engineers and software engineers focused on Requirements, Integration, and Verification in Berkeley, MO. The ideal candidate combines hands-on systems engineering verification experience with practical Agile/SAFe product ownership skills to translate program-level system goals into prioritized backlogs, acceptance criteria, and measurable verification outcomes. F-15 Training Systems provides trainers to USAF facilities throughout the US and at OCONUS locations to support warfighters. The F-15 Training systems include high fidelity cockpits with immersive visualization systems, high fidelity computer generated forces to provide synthetic opponents to train against, and applications providing instructors control over training setup, execution and post-training debrief.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years’ systems engineering experience with a strong emphasis on verification & validation, integration planning, and test execution
  • Experience acting as Product Owner or similar role in Agile/SAFe environments; participation in PI planning and sprint ceremonies
  • Experience deriving test cases from system requirements and running/accepting verification events in lab or distributed environments
  • Experience with requirements and ALM tools (DOORS, Jira) and test management systems
  • Experience authoring clear acceptance criteria and ensure measurability of verification outcomes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering and product organizations
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience (Senior Level 4)
  • Experience with simulation/Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) concepts, HLA/DIS/CIGI or equivalent is a plus.
  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (PO/PM) certification or equivalent Agile certifications (CSPO, PSM).
  • Experience in Boeing, defense simulation, avionics integration, or mission training systems
  • Experience with MBSE/SysML and model-based verification flows

Responsibilities

  • Act as SAFe Product Owner for a systems focused Agile team(s), owning the team backlog, prioritization, and Definition of Done for systems requirements, integration tasks, and verification activities
  • Translate program/system requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and testable verification artifacts
  • Lead systems verification planning: derive test cases from requirements, coordinate integration test sequences, and validate verification traceability
  • Coordinate cross-discipline teams (systems, software, test, integration) to drive sprint execution and deliverables
  • Collaborate with Release Train Engineer (RTE), System Architects, and Product Management to align team objectives with program priorities and SAFe cadence (PI planning, demos, retrospectives)
  • Maintain and demonstrate requirements-to-test traceability in requirements management and ALM tools
  • Define and accept integrated deliverables: ICDs, integration checklists, Verification & Validation reports, test results, and After Action Review (AAR) artifacts
  • Mentor systems engineers on Agile practices, story writing, test-driven verification, and acceptance criteria definition
  • Report progress, impediments, and verification status to program stakeholders; help remove impediments impacting delivery
