MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Systems Engineer Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Army's Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). You will play a crucial role in design, development, engineering, integration, and technical and operational support to employ specified Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), and Deployed Forces (DF) portion of the Department of War Information Network (DOWIN). Support by providing engineering, system administration support for the current Global Enterprise Fabric (GEF) secure and nonsecure networks, installation support to deploy GEF, and future configurations of the system. Collaborate with your peers to provide planning, design, development, engineering, integration, and technical and operational support to support the changing needs of the GEF mission. Drive success by supporting with design, configuration, test, implementation, troubleshooting, workload on-boarding assistance, integration, documentation, configuration management. Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of configurations required to control the services by maintaining accurate and complete configuration management records. Integrate and test patches, updates, and upgrades, and provide Tier III support to GEF installations. Perform baseline testing and ensure Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance in the enterprise operations facility prior to release to the responsible Operational and Maintenance organization. Implement and sustain VMware, installation, configuration, management, and data protection of high-availability virtualized environments. Analyze and provide input to systems such as Network Appliance (NETAPP) SAN systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • DoD 8570.1-M certification: IAT Level III Certification, Computing Environment Certification.
  • Security clearance level: Secret.
  • Experience with how Microsoft Enterprise products and tools interrelate to ensure NetOps capability integration
  • working knowledge of Cisco validated design for VMware vSphere
  • experience installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting
  • strong networking, security, and Microsoft background
  • Experience in IP data networking and all aspects of network security and working knowledge in Linux, Cisco Internet Operating system (IOS), Cisco NXOS, ASA firewalls, data packet routing, switching, proxy services, and engineering for IP data networks, VPNs, and IPSEC.
