About The Position

The Systems Engineer - Planning role at BAE Systems involves applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles throughout the Systems Engineering Lifecycle. The position requires collaboration with facility stakeholders to develop system concepts, architectures, and models, while also supporting requirement management and verification activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and interpersonal skills to guide teams in MBSE development and ensure effective communication across various departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required; engineering degree preferred
• 3 years of experience in the chemical process industry or 6 years of other relevant experience
• Experience with various forms of Systems Engineering Analysis
• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
• Ability to interface effectively with site operations and maintenance teams
• Effective communication skills with various functional departments and customers
• Ability to direct design teams and external design firms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project

Nice To Haves

• INCOSE CSEP certification
• Master's Degree
• 10 years of experience preferred
• Experience in project or construction estimating
• Experience in engineering design, development, construction, and commissioning
• Experience in chemical manufacturing facilities involving acids, bases, and solvents
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including UFC
• Experience with demilitarization, explosives site safety, or environmental safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Daily collaboration with facility stakeholders
• Develop system ConOps, architectures, and models of complex systems
• Support system requirement elicitation, documentation, management, allocation, traceability, validation, and verification activities
• Monitor and represent customer technical requirements and needs
• Lead or support system trade studies
• Plan and execute all Systems Engineering activities comprehensively
• Support the creation of Systems Engineering Technical plans
• Assist in proposal development and capture team activities
