Systems Engineer - MS exchange server

About the position

As a Systems Engineer specializing in Microsoft Exchange Server, you will oversee and manage Microsoft Exchange Servers and associated technologies. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and maintaining Exchange server software and related components, monitoring and resolving issues related to Exchange mailboxes, message tracking, and transport logs. You will also deploy and configure Proof Point for inbound and outbound email protection, manage and monitor email infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance, and collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve messaging service issues. Additionally, you will develop and implement Exchange server backup and recovery strategies, manage Active Directory objects related to Exchange, and oversee the Office suite, Exchange Online, and Outlook within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role requires staying up to date with the latest Microsoft 365 technologies and providing recommendations to improve services.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing Microsoft Exchange Servers and associated technologies.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Exchange server software and related components.
• Monitoring and resolving issues related to Exchange mailboxes, message tracking, and transport logs.
• Deploying and configuring Proof Point for inbound and outbound email protection.
• Managing and monitoring email infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Collaborating with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve messaging service issues.
• Developing and implementing Exchange server backup and recovery strategies.
• Managing Active Directory objects related to Exchange, such as user accounts and distribution groups.
• Overseeing the Office suite, Exchange Online and Outlook, and security management within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Working with the IT team to develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures for the Microsoft 365 environment.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to the Microsoft 365 environment.
• Monitoring the Microsoft 365 environment and proactively identifying and resolving any issues.
• Ensuring that the Microsoft 365 environment is secure and meets the company's security requirements.
• Collaborating with security and network teams to successfully integrate Microsoft 365 services with other systems and applications.
• Performing system administration, security, and maintenance duties as required.

Requirements

• At least 3-5 years of experience in Exchange server administration and related technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Exchange Server 2013/2016/2019, Exchange Online, and related technologies.
• Deep technical expertise in the Office suite, Exchange Online, Outlook, Teams IM, collaboration and voice, Power Apps, Automate and Planner, and security management within the Microsoft 365 environment.
• Microsoft M365 certifications are preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for Exchange administration automation.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
