About The Position

HawkEye 360 is seeking a Systems Engineer (Modeling and Simulation) to join the Systems Engineering Team supporting efforts to determine how to best utilize and grow HawkEye 360's next-generation RF collection payloads and commercial constellation. This includes developing system models, performing signal analysis and geolocation research, supporting constellation planning, conducting strategy and trade studies, and supporting business development initiatives. In this strategic role, you will work to optimize the constellation and ensure mission success for our customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the satellite industry or aerospace industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and modeling.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
  • Knowledge of satellite design principles.
  • Familiarity with STK, Orekit, or other astrodynamics modeling and simulation tools.
  • Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to multitask and collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to communicate clearly through written documentation and presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics and/or attitude dynamics.
  • Experience with GNSS, PNT, geolocation.
  • Background in RF systems.
  • Experience in satellite design, operations, scheduling, or other aspects of constellation management.

Responsibilities

  • Build expertise in the LEO satellites, data downlink and crosslink systems, , the HE 360 commercial business model, RF collection, geolocation processing, data analytics.
  • Collaborate on and help to implement the systems engineering roadmap.
  • Support modeling and simulation of the HE360 constellation, contributing to constellation architecture planning and optimization.
  • Develop in Python using industry standard data visualization, analysis, and statistical tools.
  • Work closely with development and operations engineers to address specific technical and business questions.
  • Provide technical input to proposals and customer inquiries representing current, future, and notional capabilities.
  • Develop and enhance HawkEye 360's modeling and simulation capabilities through code and tool integration.
  • Apply modern software best practices and leverage existing HawkEye 360 software (Python, Java, C++) and open-source tools.
