About The Position

The Systems Engineer will support the customer by providing technical analysis, engineering research, and systems integration support to an assigned Government Program Management (PM) office. This role focuses on evaluating emerging technologies, analyzing operational capability gaps, and producing technical studies and recommendations that inform decisions. The Systems Engineer will assist the customer in assessing new technologies, documenting system architectures, and developing engineering products that support the transition of emerging capabilities into Programs of Record (PoR). The position emphasizes systems engineering analysis, technical documentation, interoperability evaluation, and technology research rather than day-to-day IT operations.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience supporting systems engineering, technology analysis, or engineering integration efforts within a defense, government, or complex technical environment.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to conduct technical research and analyze emerging technologies relevant to task.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate technical approaches and operational impacts.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, white papers, engineering studies, and analytical reports.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear written and verbal communications for government stakeholders.
  • Ability to support multiple engineering tasks and coordinate technical efforts across government and contractor teams.
  • Active Security Clearance - TS required; Able to obtain SCI eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD programs, program offices, or technology integration activities is preferred.
  • Prior technical experience with tactical military systems (hardware, software, and electronic sub-components) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering support to the assigned Government Program Manager and technical staff.
  • Conduct technical research and analysis of emerging technologies to assess operational utility, interoperability, and potential integration with existing Programs of Record (PoR).
  • Analyze capability gaps across the enterprise and develop engineering recommendations to address requirements.
  • Support engineering planning, architecture development, and technical assessments that inform program decisions, strategies, and technology transition efforts.
  • Assist Government leadership in evaluating technical risks, interoperability considerations, and architectural impacts associated with new and emerging capabilities.
  • Develop engineering products and technical documentation to support program planning, technology evaluation, and integration activities, including engineering studies, technical assessments, technology evaluation reports, white papers, and concept papers.
  • Prepare systems engineering documentation such as system architecture descriptions, network and system diagrams, Interface Control Document (ICD) inputs, and Capability Development Document (CDD) and Capability Production Document (CPD) inputs to support program development and integration efforts.
  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and other engineering analyses to evaluate potential technical approaches and inform government decision-making.
  • Prepare technical briefings, reports, and supporting documentation for Government leadership and stakeholder organizations to communicate engineering findings and recommendations.
  • Develop supporting technical documentation such as Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) and related materials to assist in the transition of evaluated technologies to the command's Tactical Integration Platform (TIP) or appropriate Program of Record for further testing or implementation.
  • Prior technical experience with tactical military systems (hardware, software, and electronic sub-components) is an advantage.
