About The Position

VEKA Inc., part of VEKA North America, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing Operational Technology team in Fombell, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh. With more than 900 employees across four U.S. locations, VEKA North America is part of the global, family-owned VEKA Group, the world’s largest vinyl extruder for the window and door industry. This role is critical to supporting our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and helping drive digital transformation across our operations. Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of MES platforms (Tulip experience preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript, Python, JSON, Microsoft SQL, or similar technologies
  • Experience integrating hardware with third-party applications (e.g., PuTTY)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Agile mindset with basic understanding of Scrum and Sprint concepts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • 1+ year of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Configure, implement, and maintain VEKA’s Digital Operational Environment
  • Support and upgrade the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) following industry best practices
  • Serve as a technical resource for day-to-day system questions and troubleshooting
  • Prepare and support device and hardware integrations to improve end-user experience
  • Ensure high availability of systems, devices, and databases
  • Assist with data and system architecture design for scalability
  • Support formal design reviews and technical documentation
  • Participate in information gathering and workflow gap analysis
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Operations, Sales, Customers, and Vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
