The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Systems Engineer-MECM to support our government customer located in Washington, DC. This position involves extensive engineering of Windows and Linux operating systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing guidance to junior team members on MECM best practices.

  • Support personnel, applications, and appliances to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Install, configure, and tune operating systems, third-party applications, and security patches.
  • Troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and databases.
  • Work with systems hosted in a complex, multi-layered network.
  • Implement cybersecurity controls and manage IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor resources and alerting.
  • Work with SAN, enterprise backup solutions, and fault-tolerant technologies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on MECM best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field or 4-7 years of experience in the information technology field.
  • Must be IAT or IAM level III certified (CASP, CCNP, CISA, CISM, CISSP).
  • Working knowledge of multi-platform engineering and patch management operations.
  • Strong experience with centrally managed Linux and Windows systems patched through automated processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teamwork.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to write scripts in administrative languages (TK, Perl, VBScript, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity control implementation and IT infrastructure management.
