Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in logistics to provide critical systems engineering support to an operational government customer. This role involves managing logistics processes and ensuring efficient operations related to inventory, shipments, and material handling. Works as part of a team that supports satellite communication (SATCOM) activities, in addition to company-wide systems engineering support. This position is a part of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. Availability for non-scheduled call-ins is required. The job assignment also requires working a rotating day/night shift schedule, weekends, holidays, overtime as assigned based on the adaptable needs of the team. Work Location: Guam (VA is the base location)

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain.
  • Experience with Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) receiving and shipping processes.
  • Experience with inventory management, material handling, and logistics systems.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in negotiating, troubleshooting, and problem-solving in a logistics environment.
  • Self-directed and action-oriented to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement processes and strategic project support.
  • Work effectively under pressure and within time constraints
  • Possessing an active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to track and report on logistics operations.
  • Maintain clear, concise, and professional communication with internal management, supplier teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Receipt of parts from internal and external suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counting to maintain accuracy and integrity of mission equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock supplies to ensure availability
  • Ensure proper document control of receipts, shipments, transfers, and other logistics documentation
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving logistics challenges.
  • Review and present reports to property analysts, peers, and leadership teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and cross train to assist SATCOM activities
  • Lift 50 lbs. to load and unload critical shipments, utilizing Material Handling Equipment (MHE), stake beds, cargo vans, and electric pallet jacks as needed accurately and safely.
