About The Position

System Engineer, Level 4 Location: On-site, Portsmouth, NH. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed. The Systems Engineer will support ongoing Lonza operations through technical assistance as it relates to computerized systems infrastructure for process automation and QC laboratory systems. This person provides a technical resource to operations customers to ensure that systems are designed and operating to meet production needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science or Equivalent Experience (Computer Science, IT or Engineering Discipline Preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience with application of IT principles in high availability production and laboratory systems.
  • Experienced with using and troubleshooting Syncade.
  • Experienced in developing documentation for networks and information systems, including interface design, data conversion, and infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Proficient with Unix, Windows, and Linux operating systems, as well as Cisco network switching and monitoring utilities.
  • Skilled in SQL Server (2005/2022) and OSIsoft PI Systems, with additional knowledge of VBScript, .NET, and SQL programming.
  • Experienced with deployment and recovery applications, including Symantec Ghost, Acronis, Backup Exec, and Veeam.

Nice To Haves

  • Biotech/pharma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide infrastructure support (servers, networks, workstations, storage, and client devices) for Automation, Business Analytics, Quality Control, and any other information systems used to support Operations.
  • Maintain system integrity and identify performance and security improvements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems of increasing complexity.
  • Authoring of commissioning protocols (installation, operation, etc.).
  • Execute test scripts (design , execution, simulation, etc.) with support and guidance from supervisor.
  • Own change requests and participate in all aspects of the change control system.
  • Participate in RCAs as Operations Information Systems (OIS) representative.
  • Review/revise OIS and Manufacturing related , SOP’s, Functional Specifications, and work instructions, as a result of CAPA, equipment/process changes, error prevention activities, etc.
