About The Position

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 2 to lead and execute systems engineering activities supporting complex systems of systems and advanced data-driven solutions for the Fort Meade Customer. This position will plan and guide engineering efforts, apply data science techniques, and integrate unstructured data analysis into system engineering workflows.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI W/ Polygraph with this Customer
14 years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity,OR 5 additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated experience planning and leading systems engineering efforts.
Strong experience applying data science techniques, including NLP and ML, in an engineering context.
Proficiency with Python, R, and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Experience with Apache Tika, PDFMiner, or similar unstructured data processing tools.
Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead systems engineering activities, ensuring alignment with program objectives and technical requirements.
Analyze and design complex systems of systems, including architectural dependencies and data flows.
Lead data extraction and processing efforts for unstructured and semi-structured sources such as PDFs, CONOPS, and DoDAF products.
Apply data science techniques, including NLP and machine learning, to support systems analysis and decision-making.
Develop analytic solutions using Python and R, and apply ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Create and present data visualizations and qualitative analytic products for technical and leadership audiences.
Guide junior engineers and analysts in systems engineering and data processing best practices.
Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, including requirements and architecture artifacts.
