About The Position

Markon is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of complex RF and FORNSAT systems for our Fort Meade Customer. This role provides hands-on technical leadership across hardware and software engineering efforts, with a focus on integrating Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) products, supporting virtualization environments, and ensuring secure, highly available system operations.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and integrating GOTS products.
  • Hands-on experience with FORNSAT systems and systems integration.
  • Strong background in RF and FORNSAT system engineering and integration.
  • Experience supporting virtualized environments, including cloud and on-premises solutions.
  • Proficiency administering and troubleshooting Linux environments.
  • Experience managing Windows Server environments in secure, mission-critical systems.
  • Ability to provide senior-level technical guidance while remaining hands-on.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or DoD mission systems.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Experience working in highly classified or restricted environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and hands-on expertise for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of RF and FORNSAT hardware and software systems.
  • Architect, configure, and maintain systems utilizing GOTS products within complex enterprise and mission architectures.
  • Integrate and support FORNSAT systems, ensuring interoperability and mission alignment.
  • Manage, deploy, and sustain GOTS solutions, including configuration, integration, and lifecycle support.
  • Provide virtualization support for both cloud-based and on-premises environments.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security compliance.
  • Oversee Windows Server administration, including performance tuning, security hardening, and automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, and mission teams to ensure robust system design and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement best practices for system security, monitoring, configuration management, and technical documentation.
