As a Systems Engineer, you will support the Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) Team. You will play a pivotal role in improving cybersecurity and promoting greater standardization of simulator components by leveraging a modular open systems architecture. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to transform operational challenges into effective technical solutions within Air Force simulation and training environments. Your proficiency in data analysis, optimization, and high-performance computing will be key to driving innovation and advancing mission capabilities.

  • Support the Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) Team.
  • Improve cybersecurity and promote greater standardization of simulator components.
  • Leverage a modular open systems architecture.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to transform operational challenges into effective technical solutions.
  • Drive innovation and advance mission capabilities through data analysis, optimization, and high-performance computing.
  • 7+ years of experience in Department of Defense simulation and training environments.
  • Experience in applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF), implementing DoD security controls, and supporting system accreditation.
  • Knowledge of High-Level Architecture, Distributed Interactive Simulation, and Open Mission Systems standards.
  • Ability to architect, integrate, and manage complex systems across distributed simulation environments.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback on SCARS standards.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science Field.
  • IAT Level II Certification.
  • Experience with Air Force or DOD acquisitions, program planning, and coordination, including the use of Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Experience in LAN or WAN infrastructure, remote connectivity solutions, and network hardware, including routers, bridges, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and standards processes, based on the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SeBoK).
  • Knowledge of cloud technology, software virtualization and containerization, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, and Digital Engineering (DE).
  • Possession of strong communication and public speaking skills.
