About The Position

This position is part of the rapidly growing EO/IR Mission Systems (EMS) team within BR&T. The EMS team has more than quadrupled in size over the past 18 months due to new contract wins and continues to see increased demand from Boeing's customers. We're designing, building, and testing cutting edge sensor systems for airborne and space platforms. Our focus is always on the mission - connecting people through safer air travel and protection of the warfighter from its adversaries. This isn't your typical Boeing team - we are focused on the entire lifecycle of design: from modeling and simulation of new ideas, through prototype demonstrations, and eventually transitioning to production systems. Our team provides complete engineering solutions to Boeing and its customers, including systems engineering, optics design, mechanical design, algorithms, software development, firmware development, electronics, and advanced system modeling and simulations. We are seeking a Lead or Senior Systems Engineer in Huntington Beach, CA with experience in the development of mission systems for space and airborne platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 10+ years of experience in technical leadership.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering.

Nice To Haves

• 20+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
• Experience writing requirements for electrical/electronic, software and firmware systems.
• Experience developing electronic products for space-based applications.
• Experience with system level verification and validation.
• Experience with automating system level testing.
• Demonstrated leadership for driving issue resolution and mitigating technical risk.
• Experience in defining and implementing a highly industrialized, automated test environment.
• Experience in working in an agile model-based system engineering environment.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML and Cameo.
• Experience providing systems engineering for research and development contracts.

• Oversee development of Systems Electronics/Device Modeling.
• Integrate technologies under development with larger system concept of operations.
• Identify, innovate and oversee development and maintenance of new tools and processes.
• Lead analysis and performance budget planning.
• Develop new innovative techniques to validate analytical models and performance budgets.
• Lead customer engagement for technologies under research & development.
• Define functional architecture and modeling needs.
