About The Position

Are you ready to lead the planning, design, development, and execution of innovative solutions for security, service delivery, and data center management? As a Systems Engineer IV at Spectrum, you can drive the adoption of best-in-class practices across a complex back-office environment, focusing on business tasks, deployment, incident management, and more. In this role, you will design operational playbooks, implement platform enhancements, and lead the integration of application and data center architectures. You will also take charge of staff development, ensuring your team's growth and success.

Requirements

• Six (6+) years of system or server administration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• May require Industry Standard Certifications.
• Systems knowledge (Linux, Unix)
• Infrastructure knowledge (Raw Iron, Steel Cloud, ElasticCloud, OpenStack, AWS)
• In-depth knowledge in areas of specialty for specific applications, and general knowledge of supporting or integrating applications creating platform ecosystems.
• Basic Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
• Expert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
• Expert knowledge of software designing software, such as Visio.
• General knowledge of OSI stack and application architectures.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.
• Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator.
• Ability to use personal computer and software applications.

• Oracle, Splunk, Linux, Unix, or other system administration certification are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, manage, and ensure stability of the application and platform ecosystem and related back-office infrastructure and data centers to provide network security, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability to effectively and efficiently support mission critical business systems.
• Responsible for all engineering activities and programming related to video services, including channel additions, removals, rebrands, SID changes, and Digital Program Insertion (DPI).
• Maintain a strong understanding of the video control plane and associated encryption systems, support components such as the Enterprise Controllers (DAC, EC), Network Encryptors (NEs), RADDs, Out-of-band Modulators (OMs), Anycast, SVOM and MAS.
• Ensure accurate implementation of configuration changes and updates across systems to maintain service quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve video delivery and encryption issues.
• Demonstrate a high level of competence in IT operations, application monitoring, deployment and configuration management, availability and performance optimization, capacity management and forecasting, cloud computing, datacenter operations troubleshooting critical issues, and coordination of implementation.
• Represent the Engineering Department working closely with Architects and Engineers in designing, modeling, and implementing new technologies.
• Become a trusted partner of our engineering team through the delivery of excellent customer service and knowledge that will allow our business to grow.
• Troubleshoots and resolves major APO and system issues.
• Assist and lead efforts for design, redesign, and operational efficiencies as business objective and strategies evolve.
• Document project requirements including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with highest level of quality on time and within budget.
• Mentor and train other Engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems and provide technical presentations to instruct co-workers and other production services support individuals.
• Research and identify technology opportunities and their application to the business.
• Test and validate all new hardware and software for proper configuration and performance.
