Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a qualified college intern candidate with background in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, and/or software engineering. In this important role, you will be helping to create and evaluate system design concepts, architectures, and prototypes to meet customer requirements, define and develop system requirements and architecture, support system integration and test to verify and validate system functionality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for system design and integration. You will work with a team of technical professionals including software developers, systems engineers, and integration and test engineers in a highly dynamic mission-focused environment.

  • Create and evaluate system design concepts, architectures, and prototypes to meet customer requirements
  • Define and develop system requirements and architecture
  • Support system integration and test to verify and validate system functionality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system design and integration
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant engineering discipline, including systems, electrical, computer, mechanical or software engineering
  • Basic knowledge of systems engineering principles, including system design and development as well as system integration and testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate on and communicate complex technical information
  • Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies, such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), System Engineering Life Cycle, etc.
  • Familiarity with engineering design and development tools such as modeling and simulation software (MATLAB, Simulink, etc.), design and architecture tools (Solidworks, Creo, Visio, DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.), and collaborative platforms (Git, Jira, etc.)
  • Previous internship or other hands-on experience in a related engineering discipline
