About The Position

At Imperative Care we are developing novel robotic-assisted technologies and interventional capabilities that will forever change the disparate outcomes of ischemic stroke – a disease that impacts close to a million people a year in the U.S., and 10 million worldwide. Not only is Imperative Care changing the way stroke is treated, but also bringing this treatment to the greater population who is currently without. We are actively building a team who is focused on developing novel solutions for this complex disease – a disease in which one in four adults will face in their lifetime. We are looking for a talented Systems Engineering Intern to be an integral part of the Robotics R&D team. Are you interested in developing innovative, robotic-assisted technology to transform the way ischemic stroke is treated? This position works individually and with the team to assist in the development of a novel neurovascular robotic system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in an Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline & a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting electromechanical systems

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python for test automation, data acquisition, and data analysis is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Define various proofs of concept to aid architecture evaluation in collaboration with more senior team members.
  • Apply technical knowledge to evaluate system designs, identify optimal system solutions, and ensure delivered features meet system and clinical requirements.
  • Support system verification activities by developing test tools & fixtures and designing & executing test protocols.
  • Review test data against established acceptance criteria and document appropriate test reports.
  • Solve technical issues through troubleshooting and determining root cause.
  • Participate in brainstorming and suggest new ideas and improvements pertaining to design and process.
