Northrop Grumman is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student in a STEM Field for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in Dulles, VA or Mclean, VA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Eastern Systems Engineering Team within the Space Systems Sector. In this role, you will perform duties contributing to mission and/or space vehicle engineering activities. You could support and/or be responsible for developing requirements, design, integration, development or testing of space payloads, spacecraft buses, satellites, human-rated spacecraft, or satellite servicing vehicles. This includes generating and flowing down customer requirements to hardware and software designers, developing innovative system architectures, implementing advanced algorithms involving sophisticated signal processing and data processing techniques, and integrating and testing finished hardware and software products.

Requirements

  • A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria.
  • The candidate must:
  • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2026
  • Be majoring in a STEM degree or related degree
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.7/4.0 or higher
