Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern Systems Engineer (Infrastructure - Operating Environment/Network). In this role, you will: Work with a team of engineers supporting Lockheed Martin RMS Infrastructure, Communications, & Network Engineering team to support multiple programs. Work in a collaborative Agile environment, contributing to the development and integration of products and features spanning the entire development lifecycle. Contribute to Operating Environment and network integration, test, and documentation. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Linux (preferably RedHat), scripting languages, and concepts of Cybersecurity. Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Linux (preferably Red Hat).
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Ansible, and bash.
  • Experience on one team based project.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • This position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Virtualization technologies (preferably VMWare, Virtual Box, or KVM).
  • Experience with Network devices and their configuration.
  • Familiarity with concepts of software containerization.
  • Familiarity with concepts of Cybersecurity.
  • Related certifications, such as Security+, Linux+, Cisco Certified Network Engineer, and Linux Foundation Certified IT Associate.
  • Coursework in Computer Architecture, Networking, Digital Systems, Microprocessors, Cybersecurity, and/or System Hardening.
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated motivation with strong initiative to accept new technical challenges in complex engineering tasks.
