About The Position

The Systems Engineer III role is responsible for designing, securing, and supporting HCN’s enterprise cloud and systems infrastructure across HCN and Member Centers. This role ensures high availability, reliability, and scalability of cloud and on‑premise environments while partnering cross‑functionally to deliver secure, efficient, and future‑ready technology solutions that support organizational growth and patient care operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer‑related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an IT‑related role.
  • At least 5 years of experience architecting and securing production environments in data center and/or cloud environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of systems infrastructure administration experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience programming in a scripting language.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
  • Enterprise level Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc. and overall proficiency with these components.
  • Microsoft Cloud Systems (Office 365, Azure Servers, Azure Virtual Desktops).
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Microsoft Exchange, Skype for business and archiving solutions or comparable environment.
  • VMWare 5.0 or later environment.
  • Expert experience in infrastructure design related to network, data center, and storage equipment
  • SAN Storage systems or comparable environment.
  • Enterprise Backup systems.
  • Hardware Infrastructure such as HP and/or Dell Blade system.
  • Exceptional planning, time management, problem solving and logical troubleshooting computer skills.
  • Expert knowledge of high availability data center design and operations.
  • Industry standard networking concepts, practices, procedures, and protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be an analytical thinker and could resolve issues quickly.
  • Ability to write routing reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to identify and manage critical issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to perform position responsibilities with minimal supervision; self-starter.
  • Exceptional planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce technical documentation, routing reports, and professional correspondence.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in community health centers, medical offices, dental offices, or Healthcare Information Systems.
  • Preferred IT‑related certifications and/or healthcare industry affiliations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage enterprise cloud systems for HCN and Member Centers, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
  • Design, implement, administer, and maintain systems infrastructure, including the Citrix Cloud environment.
  • Architect backend infrastructure to support current and future organizational needs.
  • Secure backend infrastructure against known and emerging threats, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  • Plan, manage, implement, and support Member Center Citrix infrastructure, including troubleshooting, vendor coordination, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Translate business and user needs into hardware and software requirements for new or existing solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement scalable, cloud‑aligned solutions.
  • Respond rapidly to critical infrastructure incidents to minimize downtime and impact.
  • Automate product delivery and infrastructure processes to support continuous deployment.
  • Ensure product reliability, availability, and performance at all times.
  • Analyze system and application log files and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Create, modify, and deploy services to support new product features and enhancements.
  • Coordinate additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, including utilization analysis and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure vendor‑provided managed services meet agreed‑upon SLAs.
  • Maintain consistent communication with project leadership regarding status, risks, and impediments.
  • Review and ensure all Member Center assessments adhere to HCN standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to support internal users and external customers.
  • Support evolving organizational needs through additional responsibilities as assigned.
