This role offers a dynamic opportunity for a Systems Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and integration of complex technology systems in a high-stakes environment. The Systems Engineer II will analyze user requirements, system architectures, and operational needs to develop specifications and guide implementation efforts. This position requires hands-on expertise in systems engineering, data extraction, machine learning, and programming, combined with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring system integrity, supporting technical evaluations, and collaborating with government and internal teams. The role involves managing technical documentation, developing system solutions, and proactively addressing challenges to optimize performance. Ideal candidates thrive in detail-oriented, mission-driven environments and are comfortable operating within structured processes and evolving technical landscapes.

  • Develop and manage system requirements, derived requirements, and technical documentation, ensuring alignment with DoD and service-specific architecture frameworks.
  • Lead the design, integration, and implementation of complex hardware/software systems, including system architecture, operational concepts, and interface definitions.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of system performance areas such as reliability, maintainability, vulnerability, and survivability.
  • Guide verification and validation activities, including test planning, risk assessment, and compliance with certification/accreditation processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program management, IT, operations, and government stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project success.
  • Implement and maintain standards for system integration, architecture views, and operational processes.
  • Provide technical leadership in system development, operational deployment, and lifecycle management of systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; five additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Level 2 Systems Engineering experience: 14+ years with a degree or 19+ years without.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph conducted within the past 10 years.
  • Strong experience with large data systems, including natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML).
  • Proficiency in data extraction from unstructured and semi-structured sources (e.g., PDFs, CONOPS, DODAF).
  • Programming experience in Python and/or R.
  • Ability to analyze complex system requirements and develop practical, scalable solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch and data processing tools like Apache Tika and PDFMiner is desirable.
  • Familiarity with military or special operations environments is a plus.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and life and disability insurance.
  • Investment in employee development through technical training, tuition bonuses, and career growth opportunities.
  • Access to a supportive, mission-focused work environment.
