About The Position

Position Purpose: The Systems Engineer 2 develops, maintains and supports The Home Depot's technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for small to large-sized projects. Performs configuration, debugging and support for multiple infrastructure platforms on large-sized and smaller projects. Performs root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures and present to management. Assist in store & SSC engineering and roll-out implementation. Can communicate complete technical solutions to business partners with minimal direction using understandable language. Ability to manage time and work independently on multiple projects. Systems Engineer 2 has been exposed to various architecture review boards and has contributed to deliverables presented at review boards. Escalate appropriately to technical leaders and management.

Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• 4 years of related experience

Nice To Haves

• 2-5 years related experience.
• Retail/business experience a plus.
• Project leadership ability.
• BS Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of multiple programming languages, databases, life cycle methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software and user support on small to large-sized projects.
• Perform configuration, debugging and support for multiple infrastructure platforms on small to large-sized projects.
• Perform installation, maintenance and support of hardware and infrastructure on small to large-sized projects.
• Monitor and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
• Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures and present to management.
• Assist in store & SSC engineering and roll-out implementation.
