The Integrated Air & Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) department is seeking a Systems Engineer II with technical expertise and systems engineering skills to design and support System of Systems (SoS) in an agile, model-based development environment. IAMDS leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) mission area from our Tewksbury, MA location.  The IAMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. This position is onsite in Tewksbury, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance
  • Experience in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo Enterprise Architecture tool.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (C4I) systems
  • Demonstrated experience with System Engineering processes, tools, and development lifecycle
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple engineering disciplines and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and our programs’ customers
  • Strong analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Existing DoD Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for concept and requirements development, including decomposition and flow-down
  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining system design and requirements documents including Concept of Operations (CONOPS) System/Subsystem Design Documents (SSDD) System/Software Requirements (SRD/SRS) Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Communicate with cross-discipline engineering teams to coordinate system design plans and software/hardware/network requirements
  • Provide Engineering sustainment support to fielded tactical C5I systems
  • Manage technical risks by evaluating design options
