Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting a range of programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly. The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Systems Engineer II to join our Tucson, AZ location. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, test and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle. This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus.

  • Update, develop, maintain, and improve requirements, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.
  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing.
  • Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.
  • Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
  • Conduct trade studies and present results to stakeholders.
  • Work with and lead a multi-disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.
  • Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
  • Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.
  • Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience with systems software or systems hardware or systems requirements or systems integration, and/or systems test.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain and maintain program access as required.
  • Experience in the Defense Industry, and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.
  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
  • Experience with model-based engineering and associated tools.
  • Experience in developing and managing requirements.
  • Experience developing both scripts and functions with MATLAB.
  • Experience with performing performance analysis and presenting analytical and technical material.
  • Experience with generating technical documentation, such as trade studies, test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification.
  • Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Master’s or PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Cycle.
