The Systems Engineering Integrated Systems department is seeking a Systems Engineer II (Modeling & Simulation). The Integrated Systems team leads all aspects of systems engineering that drive the development of complex systems supporting the Raytheon Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) mission area from our Tewksbury, MA location. The department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who collaborate to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. This is a full-time onsite position based in Tewksbury, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with system modeling, algorithm development, test vectors, or analysis tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and/or Fortran.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in complex digital signal processing, including developing time‑domain signal models.
  • Background in system requirements capture, design, decomposition, and radar system concepts.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and perform large‑scale data analysis and statistical evaluations.
  • Experience conducting studies and analyses, including defining and executing study plans.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and leading technical efforts across multiple stakeholders with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain modeling tools incorporating Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with complex time domain elements.
  • Analyze data to understand performance and perform root cause analysis.
  • Incorporate radar system concepts including detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms to model their behaviors and analyze performance.
  • Contribute and collaborate in a team environment receiving input from the program or team experts and contributing your knowledge to advance the discussions.
  • Communicate with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate design plans and requirements analysis.
  • Contribute your knowledge of performance engineering practices and procedures to evaluate work across a wide range of intriguing subject areas.
  • Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects.
  • Develop models to validate proposed architectures and designs against requirements as well as help shape future tech growth.
  • Incorporate effector system concepts to model their behaviors and analyze performance.
