About The Position

The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 60 years. This unique asset enhances the Air Force's capability to accomplish its primary mission of global reach. It also provides aerial refueling support to the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft. The KC-135 is the backbone of the USAF refueling fleet and is scheduled to remain so for decades to come. You will be on the KC-135 Platform Systems Team performing aircraft platform systems engineering tasks associated with design, development, integration, and test of various applications for use on the KC-135 platform.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience in systems engineering tasks associated with design, development, integration, and testing of applications
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices
  • Ability to perform requirements-based testing and investigations in a lab environment
  • Strong communication skills for status updates and collaboration with team members

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the KC-135 platform or similar military aircraft
  • Knowledge of software development practices and configuration management
  • Experience in cross-functional team collaboration
  • Familiarity with hardware and software integration testing

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the systems' requirements: capture, design, validation and verification of software for development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems
  • Support cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teams
  • Perform Platform Systems specific on-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and ad-hoc testing in a simulated lab environment
  • Perform investigations of lab hardware and environment; including integration investigations of the interfaces for Collin Aerospace equipment and government furnished equipment in the lab
  • Assist in ground and flight test events at customer facilities
  • Communicate status on assigned stories to Agile team members
  • Collaborate in planning increments and sprints with Agile program leadership
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of the KC-135 system
  • Coordinate with team and other software domain teams to identify and track dependencies
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and globally)
