About The Position

Textron Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Land Systems team at the Slidell, LA facility. We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering) required; master's degree in systems Engineering preferred.
Minimum six years of experience in a systems engineering or design engineering role required.
Effective writing and presentation skills.
Customer interfacing and ability to build relationships.
Ability to work in teams and independently with minimal direction.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Position requires up to 25% travel

Nice To Haves

Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and Cameo/MagicDraw (or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
Experience in a DoD environment and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) are preferred.
Experience in ground vehicle design & development preferred.

Responsibilities

Support full-life cycle engineering design and development activities on ground vehicle programs.
Lead and/or perform requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), trade studies, requirements derivation, design review support, integration planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis.
Using technical acumen and problem-solving skills toward the execution of systems engineering tasks
Perform review of engineering work products to ensure technically accurate and quality work products.
Prepare and present systems engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.
Generate Statements of Work and manage outside contractor performance.
Mentor others within the work group, department, and the organization.
Generate solid Basis of Estimates and manage Earned Value for design/development cost accounts as Cost Account Manager.
Provide technical direction to engineering staff and technicians of all disciplines as required.
Ability to interact daily with program managers, planners, and technicians.
Drive tasks to completion independently.
