About The Position

Join Collins Aerospace as a Systems Engineer where you will be delivering solutions that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise. This opportunity offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be a leader and influencer in the architectural design decisions to protect our Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) products in an ever-growing threat environment. Projects span the entire development lifecycle, including pursuit and order capture, system design, requirements definition, requirement allocation, requirement traceability, use case development for software/hardware, systems integration, verification testing and qualification. In this role you will work closely with fellow systems engineers, Technical Project Engineers (PEs), Product Line / Program Management, software, hardware, electrical and support staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of the product lifecycle. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Agile systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw CAMEO, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50%.
  • Experience in writing requirements specifications.
  • Understanding and utilization of the appropriate processes and tools during pursuit and order capture.

Responsibilities

  • Define and review systems requirements for several systems.
  • Implement Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw CAMEO, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect.
  • Conduct requirements-based testing for large complex systems.
  • Identify and document architecturally significant requirements and technical risk areas.
  • Apply SysML concepts for System Modeling across a full engineering lifecycle.
  • May serve as system lead in integration, verification and validation for large complex systems.
  • Estimate, track, manage and report status relating to technical, cost, schedule, and risk performance for assigned scope of work which may span across multiple projects.
  • Recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in technical development processes.
