As a System Engineer I – Modeling & Simulation Developer, you will be part of a team of systems engineers dedicated to delivering best-in-class Raytheon products for the warfighter through modeling, simulation, and analysis. Your work will help demonstrate mission effectiveness of systems and system-of-systems operating in complex threat environments. On this team, you will be responsible for developing mission simulations, virtual prototypes, and system emulators that represent a variety of mission technologies including sensors, effectors, communications, command and control, and more. This will include integrating live-virtual-constructive (LVC) simulations with other simulations, custom software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), government furnished models, hardware, and user interfaces

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM Degree
  • Experience with developing software applications including languages such as C/C++ or Java
  • Experience with Object-oriented programming designs (OOP / OOD)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with developing software in Windows and Linux Environments.
  • Familiar with or desire to learn 2D and 3D Software rendering, including Texturing, Shaders, OpenGL, Open Scene Graph
  • Familiar with or desire to learn gaming engines or related technologies, including Unreal / Creator / 3DS Max, 3D object modeling
  • Familiar with or desire to learn scientific computing software (eg: MATLAB) to evaluate analysis data.
  • Experience using scripting languages (eg: Python, Perl) to automate tasks.
  • Familiar with or desired to learn software or system modeling practices (eg: UML, SysML, DoDAF)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and integrating new capabilities into existing simulation models.
  • Running our simulation environments and generating analysis data for evaluation.
  • Document design approaches and implement them.
  • Define and execute analysis plans.
  • Participating in technical reviews with internal and external customers.
  • You will contribute and collaborate in a team environment, receiving input from the program, external customers, or team experts, and work on projects, as you determine, develop, and implement analytic approaches that will generate the supporting data to inform programmatic decisions.
