About The Position

The Systems Engineer I Fire/Suppression role at Tech Electronics involves applying engineering principles to support the design, installation, and service of low voltage life safety and communication systems. This position is crucial for ensuring compliance with technical specifications and customer needs while fostering collaboration across various departments.

Requirements

• Associate degree in electronics, electrical or computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• One year of experience in a designer/engineer capacity.
• Understanding of CAD and drafting techniques.
• Knowledge of design techniques, principles, and tools for producing technical plans and specifications.
• In-depth knowledge of computer, local area network, and wide area network technologies.

Responsibilities

• Apply theories and principles of system design to support sales, installation, and service of systems.
• Ensure system design and technical support comply with applicable codes and specifications.
• Understand the strategy and objectives of each Strategic Business Unit.
• Handle various aspects of designing and engineering work, including small system installations or modifications.
• Respond to customer requests, both verbal and written, to understand and define their needs.
• Communicate directly with customers through quotations, meetings, presentations, and technical support.
• Produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images, as well as customer and company specifications.
• Collaborate with all departments to ensure drawings convey correct information and are error-free.
• Maintain system knowledge and code knowledge as directed.
