About The Position

Join a cutting-edge team supporting NASA’s Lunar Gateway program as a Fault Management Systems Engineer. This role focuses on the integration, validation, and testing of fault models across complex spacecraft systems. You’ll work at the intersection of various spacecraft subsystems to ensure robust fault detection, isolation, and recovery capabilities for Gateway operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in integrated systems engineering, preferably in aerospace or spaceflight programs.
  • Strong understanding of fault propagation and system interactions across a system of systems domains.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
  • Experience with Linux environments for development and testing.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NASA systems engineering processes and standards.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and fluid system layouts.
  • Familiarity with MBSE tools such as SysML, Visio, or Cameo.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine fault management models for integrated spacecraft systems.
  • Analyze fault propagation across subsystems, such as electrical, thermal, and software subsystems to assess system-level impacts.
  • Support integration and validation of fault models using simulation, test data, and system requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of fault detection and isolation logic, including automated recovery strategies.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of test plans to validate fault management functionality.
  • Document findings, provide technical recommendations, and support reviews with NASA and industry partners.
