The Boeing Strategic Deterrent Systems division is seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer to join our Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) team in Layton, Utah. Boeing has supported National defense through Minuteman since its inception, continues that legacy today, and will continue it well into the future. The project engineer position will work with our ICBM operational software sustainment program, which oversees Minuteman ground equipment and operational software, as well as other assigned program scope as needed. This role straddles both the technical and program management sides and integrates various engineering functions while executing to schedule and cost. This is a dynamic position with opportunities to present in a customer facing role as well as in a management facing role. Come join us in our national defense legacy.

  • Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
  • Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.
  • Works with customers and management to obtain approval.
  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
  • Leads project execution to complete the work statement.
  • Identifies performance metrics.
  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
  • Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
  • Provide specific Project Engineering for the ICBM Operational Software Sustainment Program (IOSSP).
  • Perform integration between various types of engineering (Software, Electrical, Systems, Mechanical) related to the Wing Code Processing System with responsibilities over technical contractual deliveries, development schedules, peer reviews, qualification testing, and coordinating milestone events.
  • Provides project engineering and technical expertise on the KS60-CUTS contract scope.
  • Act as a deputy program manager and Cost account management as assigned.
  • Works under minimal direction.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
  • Previous ICBM ground systems, CCOS, WMAP experience.
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
