About The Position

CACI is seeking a TS/SCI cleared Enterprise Systems Engineer to be a part of our Enterprise Product Support (EPS) team supporting Air Force DCGS in Hampton, VA. This role involves proactively providing systems engineering support across all EPS to solve problems, improve efficiency, encourage collaboration, and ensure sound engineering practices are being followed. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree related to computer or electrical engineering or associate’s degree in computer or electrical engineering
  • 6 or more years of systems engineering experience.
  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience working with systems that are comprised of virtual components within on-premises or external cloud systems.
  • Knowledgeable of virtual infrastructures to include computer and storage resources, virtual machines (VMs), and basic networking.
  • Strong mathematical background. You must be able to understand the math behind the metrics we collect and manipulate and be proficient using algebra and unit conversions.
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets (such as formatting, formulas, sub-totals, and graphs).
  • Current and active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Work onsite at Langley AFB.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of databases, software programming, scripting, and SQL queries.
  • Courses in statistics, calculus, or differential equations. Proficiency not required.
  • Experience with Elastic, Eracent, vROps, and VMWare virtual infrastructures.
  • Specific knowledge of AF DCGS life cycle.
  • Systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and use tools and processes to collect, correlate, and assess capacity metrics (CPUs, Memory, Storage, Bandwidth) to provide analysis of high-level integration issues and evaluate technical impacts of new and existing requirements.
  • Obtain privileged user accounts and use state of the art tools across virtual systems, edge nodes, private clouds, and the enterprises in support of AF DCGS sustainment and evolving needs.
  • Review technical documentation and provide engineering feedback as required.
  • Create or modify custom queries on existing tools to support metric discovery from devices (with and without agents).
  • Generate, update, and maintain capacity data in sustainment engineering documentation and facilitate the generation of the monthly capacity report.
  • Conduct and support directives from Integrated Sustainment Planning, to recommend and address deficiencies for enabling deployment, operations and support, and decommissioning phases of the weapon system life cycle.
  • Develop and implement solutions for maximizing AF DCGS asset management tool to support baseline Configuration Management.
  • Innovate with existing tools and processes across systems and teams for the benefit of increasing efficiency and quality and be continuously forward thinking.
  • Provide engineering assessment of technical documentation, to include architectures, capacity metrics, design descriptions, flow diagrams, requirements, security assessments, Software Design Descriptions (SWDDs), and solutions.
  • Provide capacity management metrics at various levels of granularity that drive provisioning decisions for virtual machines, memory, and storage.
  • Provide updates to maintain the Interface Control Document (ICD) and the SWDD when integrating capabilities for sustainment.
  • Support CM management of the CAB/CCB process and entry criteria, facilitating compliance and rapid movement through the change process and adherence to the Configuration Management Plan.
  • Translate complex engineering detail into various levels of understanding that range from top leadership views to very technical detail useful for developers and design engineers.
  • Work with Lead Systems Engineer to organize and coordinate local engineering and technical management activities.
