About The Position

Red Arch Solutions is searching for a Systems Engineer in Annapolis Junction, Maryland to support a small team of highly motivated professionals responsible for providing tailored software development and operational support. The role of the System Engineering/SA team is critical to the success of an Agile development environment. Systems Engineers provide feedback on infrastructure status, and server/network availability. The ability to communicate with other program personnel and government overseers is critical. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in System/Network Administration, to effectively manage the infrastructure, servers and network devices. The System Engineer 2 shall possess the following capabilities: Install, configure, and support a wide array of COTS/GOTS software, packages, and libraries in a mostly Linux environment with some Windows. Maintain security posture for the SSP to include mitigating IAVAs, managing POAMs, and navigating customer STE/STN compliance tools. Manage virtualized environments using VMware ESXi and oversee the configuration of various storage components. Hands-on management of Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco Firepower firewalls, including VPN configuration and enclave isolation. Modernize operations by primarily using Ansible for configuration management and deployment. Perform the sanitization of hardware, firmware, and software removed from the environment in strict accordance with customer policies. Issue resolution through hands-on troubleshooting, and discrepancy tracking, using Jira and Confluence.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Fourteen (14) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in Linux-based environments (Rocky, RedHat, Fedora) with functional knowledge of Windows Server.
  • Proven track record working within secure, isolated enclaves.
  • Proficiency in developing automation scripts using Ansible.
  • Direct experience configuring Cisco Nexus and Firepower devices.
  • Familiarity with customer SSP accreditation processes and the lifecycle of security.
