About The Position

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. What does that mean? Well, we pump peanut butter into your jar, and the oil in your car. We glue the soles of your shoes, the glass in your windows and the screen on your phone. We spray the finish on your vehicle, coatings on your pills, the paint on your house and texture on your walls. Graco is part of your daily life. Job Purpose Assembles and tests all Graco/Electrical products (including systems) with minimum or no supervision while working from blueprints, schematics, sketches, or verbal instructions from the supervisor or engineer. This product or system must conform to the customer’s requirements (per print and engineering), ship complete, and on schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of a two-year degree in electrical or electro-mechanical technology, or other relevant degrees in which the majority of the curriculum is related to electronics, electrical or electro-mechanical assembly/repair/diagnostics.
  • Experience in building electrical control panel or electrical system integration experience.
  • 48 months of Graco experience or 3-5 years of industry-related product knowledge and assembly experience.
  • Certificates in Basic Math, Basic Blueprint, and/or Math for Manufacturing and Blueprint Reading for Manufacturing Certificates, (PC Skills for Manufacturing), (Measurement Skills for Manufacturing) or equivalent trade-school certificate(s).
  • Good mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of NEC electrical standards.
  • The ability to layout set up performs standard operations and performs unique operations where quality, tolerances, and sequences are specified.
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs when cranes are not practical.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Standard Graco industrial systems product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of UL panel construction.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s).
  • Knowledge of engraving.
  • Crating experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in problem-solving to continually improve the quality of assemblies and processes.
  • Layout control boxes; drill and punch.
  • Layout back panels; drill and tap.
  • Plan, layout and perform diversified wiring on a variety of custom and standard products.
  • Determine polarity to ensure effective operation in running, bending, and fitting wires and cables in limited space.
  • Test electrical controls and adjust as required.
  • Assemble and test component and system products including cables color valves, electrical cabinets, solenoid boxes, P mix, heated RTM, and batch dispense systems.
  • Crate finished assemblies before shipment.
  • Test all assemblies with the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Assist the supervisor and alert him/her to non-conforming components.
  • Ability to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Recommend wiring chart changes to engineering.
  • Train and develop lower level Electrical Assemblers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
