About The Position

The Google VMware Engine service enables customers running on-premises VMware workloads to seamlessly migrate to Google Cloud without having to rearchitect or refactor their applications. As part of this team, you will assist in launching and supporting the Google VMware Engine service and infrastructure across multiple regions and nodes, leveraging both Google native and Google Extension Data Centers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience with systems automation, and with systems design and implementation.
  • 3 years of experience with technical infrastructure (e.g., deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting).

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of experience working with vendors or customers.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of the vSphere ecosystem, including host management, VM lifecycle, and vCenter architecture.
  • Utilize knowledge of VMware vSAN (e.g., OSA and ESA architectures), and manage troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Understand Unix/Linux operating system internals, including memory management, file systems, and networking stacks.
  • Build scalable infrastructure tools.
  • Optimize physical data center operations.
