The Creative Compute and Storage team designs, develops, and delivers technology infrastructure globally for the evolving needs of our creatives. As we continue to expand our content creation globally, we are looking for the best and brightest engineering talent to be part of our growth. Our team is looking for a Senior Systems Development Engineer to be part of the development and build-out of our purposefully developed infrastructure platforms. You will work with internal engineering teams, technical creatives, production teams, and external vendors around the world to deliver amazing technology experiences for our creative users. We are looking for an experienced engineer who brings a broad set of technical skills and achievements, a development and automation-focused mindset to solving problems, and unique career and life experiences to join our teams as we continue to evolve entertainment around the world.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building and developing compute, storage, and connectivity tooling to deliver product experiences for end-users.
  • Ability to dissect large complex systems into sub-components, understanding each component’s additive value to the overall solution.
  • Passion for automation, efficiency and scale; consistently driving operational excellence.
  • Deep technical understanding of large-scale computing infrastructure; operating systems; high-performance storage file, block, and object storage technologies; scaled networking challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business and product teams to develop product plans and roadmaps.
  • Thrive in identifying high-leverage, high-value work and direct attention to those opportunities without explicit direction.
  • Aim to always be learning new things, working in new spaces, and share this passion with those around you.
  • Use data-driven strategies, applying thorough analytics and real-time insights for strategic and operational decisions.
  • Strongly uphold observability principles, promoting transparent, measurable outcomes to improve performance and accountability in all projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a broad group of engineering teams, internal and external partners, and creative teams to design, develop, implement, and support a broad collection of technology solutions for content creation at Netflix.
  • Design and build services to improve experiences and productivity for a broad range of content creative populations (e.g. post-production, animation, visual effects, etc.).
  • Work in a uniquely challenging global infrastructure space with challenges far larger than almost any other studio in the world.
  • Be empowered to build and develop new solutions to long-standing entertainment industry challenges.
  • Develop, script, and automate solutions to improve the efficiency and functionality of our production systems.
  • Participate in system upgrades and migrations, as well as troubleshooting tasks to maintain optimal system performance.

Benefits

  • Annual salary compensation structure with the option to choose between salary and stock options.
  • Compensation range for this role is $100K - $720K.
