The Systems Automation & Robotics Engineer will design and implement automated service solutions and processes that competitively meet customer requirements. This position focuses on automation, equipment, and packaging technology, leading the transition from manual systems to efficient, automated solutions.   • Prioritizes safety by reviewing plant layouts, eliminating operational risks, and providing safe automation solutions that replace manual operations where possible.
  • Integrate quality into equipment design, procurement, and startups.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products on schedule.
  • Identify and assess opportunities to enhance or replace manual operations with automated solutions.
  • Lead the technical / automation aspects of new business development and launches.
  • Lead packaging engineering initiatives focused on cost reduction, speed to market, and operational simplicity through innovative design, automation, and standardization.
  • Develop flexible, scalable, and sustainable packaging systems that support customer growth, volume variability, capital efficiency, and continuous innovation.
  • Drive Crescent’s capability expansion through new packaging and process technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship across all Crescent sites.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and engagement across all teams.
  • Build and manage relationships with key suppliers and turnkey solution providers.
  • Share best practices and standardize solutions across Crescent sites.
  • Reduce Complexity.
  • Support Customer Growth.
  • Proactive with Sales, Operations, and technical teams to ensure commercial and technical alignment.
  • Provide industry insights into packaging technology, innovative solutions and market trends.
  • Deliver automation solutions that position Crescent as a trusted and forward-thinking service provider.
  • Manages capital equipment sourcing and budgeting, ensures financial targets are met.
  • Responsible for capital project lifecycle, developing ROIs, budgets, and execution plans.
  • All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to identifying and training an individual capable of successfully completing all stated Essential Duties and Responsibilities as appropriate to maintain integrity of position for progression planning and coverage during times of absence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in packaging system design, and installation
  • Minimum 7 years leading capital projects and managing project life cycles
  • Experience in manufacturing control electronics, pneumatic systems, data management and transfer
  • Broad knowledge of packaging equipment and systems
  • Robotic and automation sourcing and installation experience
  • Development of packaging equipment and processes from product specifications
  • Strong project management and financial acumen (ROI, budgeting, P&L)
  • CAD
  • Nulogy
  • Project Management Software (preferably ClickUp)
  • UKG
  • Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel)
  • Equipment software applications
  • Strong analytical and practical problem-solving abilities
  • Solid project management and planning skills
  • Financial acumen, including ROI analysis and P&L understanding
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and stay ahead of operational needs
